It’d Give A Whole New Meaning To “Roger And Me”

Jonah Goldberg says Michael Moore is a porno producer at heart. Jonah has a point, but that’s a mental image I really didn’t need…

F-9/11 is to political documentary films what Battlefield Earth is to Space Exploration.

For me, this film had the same unintended consequence that the film JFK did a few years ago. I was once a confirmed “JFK Conspiracy” guy. Then I went to see Oliver Stones ” JFK. I left the theatre saying for the first time in my life that all the theories about “Who killed JFK” were crap and that the far more likely turth was that that Lee harvey was a lone whacko. Oliver Stone and his film “JFK” did that for me, and I thank him.

It was not what the film maker had intended, but thats what I got out of it.

Now, I’ve seen f-9/11, and I cant say I was an unbaised observer, but the film didnt have the effect to me that the film maker intended.

In my opinion, this film was an inch away from a modern retelling of the ‘protocols of the elders of zion”. It was a vile hate filled rant, packaged as a documentary. This was the film world version of a flaming bag of dog poop layed on the door of humanity.

Im not against those who are anti-war, I think that shows that your heart is in the right place. I cannot extend the same sense of well being to those who are for the other side. Michael Moore is not anti war, in this film, Michael Moore is clearly for the other side.

I came to this film as someone who believed that Michael Moore was a filmmaker. I left the film believing that Michael Moore is a bigot. And the object of his bigotry is not George W Bush, but the whole of liberal democracy that is represented in the West.

During the 1930’s, leni Reifenstahl made really great looking movies, movies that certainly looked beautiful, yet exhorted the virtures of purile Nazism.

See, I can appreaciate the art and still feeling revolted by the message. In the end, hatred at the artist for bald faced bigotry against simple humanity being portrayed on film. Leni Reifenstahl portrayed a bigotry in soft light that ended the lives of 52 million people around the world. Michael Moore has shown us the hatred of the left, and we have yet to see the death toll as a result.

Being an “artist” doesnt excuse you from the resposibility of the image you create. Leni Refenstahl sent a message of nazi “ubermen”. Michael Moore has sent us a message that the world is run by “texas oilmen” and “neocons” which to my tender ears sounds suspiciouly like the talk of “bankers” and “international jewry” from the posse comitatus.

As I once said of Oliver Stone, I say ‘thank you’ to Michael Moore for making it all so clear. I now know who side I’m on, and why. This was not what he intended, but thats what he got.

  2. Mike M Says:

Apparently F9/11 opens with a sequence explaining how Bush was selected-not-elected and really lost all the recounts.

Do you really need to see a single frame beyond that? It’s simple fact that Bush won every legal and hypothetical recount. Moore is living in a fantasy land where fact doesn’t matter. He manipulates footage, stages events, and just plain makes up what he needs to fill in the holes. It’s not convincing and more than a little disturbing that he’s being celebrated as some kind of hero by the left.

But hey, if the Democrats are going to hitch their wagon to Michael Moore they shouldn’t be surprised as they travel to the left…while the White House becomes a vanishing dot on the horizon…

Goldberg nailed this one and I was going to say that he had said it all. Then I read Mike M’s post above. Great illustration in the last graf. I hope nobody at the DNC sees it.

  5. Anticipatory Retaliation Says:

    Conspiracy Porn

New article links Michael Moore with nasty porn actors – equates Fahrenheit 9/11 with the Bare Wench Project. In related news, it takes only 6 or 7 stiff shots to get that image out of your head.

  6. Carey Gage Says:

If Moore wants a future as a pornographer, he’ll have to change the title of his first pornodoc to “Rogerin’ Me”.

  7. Daniel Says:

I hope people are right when they say Moore is simply preaching to the choir, and there isn’t much cause for alarm. I am not as sanguine. Judging by the presentation by the network media outlets, the film is taken at face value as being a documentary. Boldfaced lies and plainly illogical and contradictary arguments are rarely reported, or are described as minor omissions. The movie, a documentary in relatively limited release made $21 million this weekend. This kind of popularity cannot be underestimated. While the blogosphere might take heart in intelligent and forceful rebukes by the likes of Christopher Hitchens, the fact is, more people will have read and seen on TV Roger Ebert’s thumbs up review.

The first commenter noted how JFK actually had an opposite effect on him than Oliver Stone intended. Sadly he is in the minority as a majority of Americans still believe the conspiracy theories. Similar to F-9/11, JFK was also described as being well-made and “making some good points,” despite its “factual flaws.”

Never underestimate the power of a demagogue.

    best put down ever!

the one thing that disproves the mooreite bush=hitler argument… if he was, they wouldn’t be able or survive making the argument…

  9. AK Says:

Goldberg was right on, but this made my day: “F-9/11 is to political documentary films what Battlefield Earth is to Space Exploration.”

I read yesterday that Moore told a German newspaper that Americans are the stupidest people on earth. $21 million over the weekend makes me wonder if he isn’t right. (Or at least the second stupidest, after the Palme d’Or purveyors.) I hope at least some of those movie-goers come away feeling as Frank Martin did.
